Housing Conference 2023: What It Is And Why It’s Important
Housing is an award-winning conference that takes place every year, with hundreds of speakers, sponsors and attendees. It’s hosted by the Chartered Institute of Housing and is known for being the largest of its kind in Europe. Today, we’ll talk a bit more about the conference and why it’s so crucial to our work.
So, what’s the event all about?
It’s a chance for people in the sector to get together and network, in order to collaborate and lead the way in communities. It’s also a space to talk about key topics that can affect the sector and our tenants, so it’s important to our team.
What happens at the event?
Exhibitions, talks, workshops and more – and lots of debate and discussion. This year, the event covered areas such as:
– Levelling up
– Town center regeneration
– Affordable housing partnerships
– Safer housing
– Funding
– Leadership and innovation
… and many more topics besides. Through every event and talk, the purpose is to meet the needs of all tenants and residents in housing.
Who attends the Housing conference?
Key stakeholders, such as government workers, local authorities, suppliers, builders and developers. In our opinion, it’s unmissable – and helps us to deliver the best experiences for our tenants.
Is the event for tenants too?
It’s geared towards those who are shaping and supporting our housing and our communities.
What other reasons do people attend the conference?
There are many reasons, but the biggest is to keep ahead of what the industry’s doing and to ensure teams are learning and growing, offering the best housing support and solutions to their tenants.
The event is a chance to learn from hours of content that covers everything from housing affordability and safety to tackling homelessness and climate change, and with many government departments and speakers in attendance, you can find out more about current projects.. It’s also a place to recognise some of the hard work achieved within the sector, through celebrations like Housing Heroes and the Women In Housing Awards.
Why is it so important to FHA?
As a specialist supported housing association, we want to do our very best for everyone we provide services for, and those who work with us in this sector. We know there’s always room to grow and develop, and new things to learn – whether it’s trends, key legislation, government updates or something else. Attending the event is part of our commitment to our tenants – and to you.
